Position Description

Full-Time Position commencing mid to late March 2018

 

The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Management of the Health Service Co-ordination team
  • Provide support with complex clinical care and complex discharge planning
  • Oversee flow and access across the health service
  • Manage the nurse bank /pool workforce
  • Manage external referrals to repatriate local patients back to BCH in conjunction with acute and sub-acute NUMs
  • Co-ordinate emergency codes response in hours
  • Oversee the demand escalation policy
  • Liaise with NUMs and other department managers to improve responses to any potential barriers to access and flow
  • Ensure 24 hour HSC coverage with responsible leave management and reliever access

 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • A senior registered nurse/midwife with significant and varied clinical experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Post-graduate qualifications essential
  • Current ALS or working towards same
  • An excellent understanding of the principles of Access and Flow
