PHILLIP ISLAND HEALTH HUB UPDATE

Bass Coast Health’s (BCH) Phillip Island Health Hub at Cowes is really starting to take shape, with BCH undertaking extensive service planning with specialists and other service providers about the Hub, including discussions with the Department of Health and Human Services, the BCH Board, the Phillip Island Community Advisory Group (PICAG) and the BCH Community Advisory Committee.

Decisions about which services will be available from the Hub are close to being made and the coming months will provide BCH with final drafts of the service profile, with the aim of these details being available to community members by January 2018 – 3 months before the Hub opens.

This week BCH’s PICAG toured the Hub site with BCH’s CEO Jan Child and Director of Infrastructure Wimal Kirinde. They were particularly impressed by the Hub‘s size and the opportunities it will provide to deliver improved health services to Phillip Island residents when it opens in April next year.
