Interpreter Service

It is the policy of Bass Coast Health that clients and patients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds are offered the use of a trained and official interpreter for all health related matters.
This may occur face to face or through the telephone interpreting service.

If you or your family members find it hard to communicate in English, you can request an interpreter.

Interpreter services are free of charge.

You can also request an interpreter when:
  • You or your family do not understand what staff are saying
  • You or your family do not understand what they are required to sign
  • You or your family would find it easier to speak in your own language

If you require an interpreter please ask a staff member to organise one for you or contact (03) 5671 3333.

If you or your family cannot attend a scheduled Interpreter Service appointment, please contact (03) 5671 3333 to cancel as soon as possible.
