General Medical and Surgical

Surgical services available include, urology, colorectal, plastics, dental, general surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat.

Many patients admitted to the 30 bed unit are admitted with complex health care and social needs, requiring the combined efforts of multi-disciplinary professionals, patient and families to plan hospital care and discharge arrangements.

Discharge planning meetings are held twice a week on the acute ward, where the input of nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers and other allied health professionals focus on providing a plan for patient’s safe return home.
