Bass Coast Health is currently recruiting senior and junior registrars in Emergency Medicine for 2019


Bass Coast Health is a growing Health Service that has recently received an injection of one hundred and fifteen million dollars from the government to significantly expand our Emergency Department and the hospital by 2021.


We are a FACEM led sub-regional Emergency Department which provides patient centred care to a wide Gippsland South Coast Community. At the present time, our Emergency Department consists of 2 resuscitation bays, 5 monitored beds, 4-6 short stay beds and 2 HDU beds. We work closely with allied health services, South Gippsland GP, local anaethetists/surgeons and tertiary specialties hospitals. Attendance at our emergency department is over 16000 annually.


We pride to provide our registrars a supportive working and teaching environment:

  1. We are accredited for 6 months advanced training with ACEM for Core or Rural/Remote Special Skills.
  2. Opportunities for Anaesthetics experience.
  3. Regular point of care ultrasound teaching to achieve CCPU qualification.
  4. Protected teaching time with support to attend metro training days and/or weekly on-site training to registrars.
  5. Active education program, including EMET Hub with Certificate and Diploma candidates


Our hospital is situated at Wonthaggi near Inverloch, San Remo and Phillip Island, a vibrant sun, sand and surf community with a positive lifestyle. Its about 90 mins drive down the scenic Bass Fwy from eastern suburbs.
