Join us in congratulating staff who received long service awards at our Annual General Meeting... and guess who won a Life Governorship?! Read more...

Forty-two staff across West Gippsland Healthcare Group received awards for between 15 and 35 years of service.

Volunteer Shirley Grove was awarded for 10 years of service to our mobile book trolley which delivers reading material to patients and aged care residents.

Jan Bennett who retired this year after 27 years received a Life Governor award for her contribution to nursing.

West Gippsland Hospital's rebel doctor, Issam Muteir provided insight into the terrible conditions of growing up in war torn Iraq dodging bullets. At the age of 27 he was in charge of protecting the local hospital from gunfire and attacks. His journey to become a doctor to save lives and his immigration to Australia as a refugee was moving and inspiring.

It was wonderful to see so many community supporters at the event including the service clubs, opportunity shops and individuals who so generously donate to us.

Five year old Elijah Bruni also attended with his mum to see his photo on the front cover of our Quality Account booklet and our promotional banner with his image on it.
