CYBER INCIDENT: We have no email communications

If you've tried to email West Gippsland Hospital or Healthcare Group this week your email has not come to us.
After 4pm Monday September 30 there was a region wide cyber incident which has affected a number of hospital IT servers across Gippsland.

As result we cannot email out or receive emails.

If you have emailed us in the past few days we did not get it and are unlikely to receive your email.

Our phones ARE still working.
Please phone our hospital main reception if your email was urgent so we can action it.

ALL PATIENT SERVICES ARE RUNNING 

We want to ensure patients that all our patient services are running despite the IT issues. 

There have been no cancellations to surgery. Emergency Department is operating as usual and all hospital inpatient and outpatient services including consulting suites and allied and community health are running.

WGHG, Chief Executive Officer, Dan Weeks, said the incident has impacted on shared IT systems between hospitals within the Gippsland Health Alliance (GHA).

“Fortunately, most of our local services are still functional including internal intranet communications, phone systems, public address system, access to printers and external website.”

“In situations like this, the hospital reverts to manual paper-based systems to maintain services.”
